This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by Innovate Awarding External Quality Advisors (EQAs).
Aims and Objectives of the Qualification
This qualification is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding of the principles of leadership and management for an adult care setting.
This qualification has been devised in partnership with Skills for Care to provide learners with a progression pathway towards management roles in the sector. It aligns with National Occupational Standards and Skills for Care’s Manager Induction Standards and covers essential knowledge of adult care, support and management of service delivery.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification however Learners must be at least 19 years of age.
This qualification is suitable for those who work within the health and social care sector. Learners may find it useful if they have already completed a Level 3 qualification and have experience of working in the sector. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of working in a senior roles across the sector.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to further learning with qualifications such as:
- IAO Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England)
- IAO Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England)
