Aims and Objectives of the Qualification
The main aim of the IAO Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments to the general public and to gain employment or advancement in the beauty industry.
The qualification covers how to communicate professionally with clients and how to carry out risk assessments and maintain compliance within a beauty salon. Learners will also gain the knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology which is applicable to laser and intense pulsed light treatments. Learners will gain an understanding of the technology required for laser and intense pulsed light treatments and have the technical knowledge and skills to carry out hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification although it may be beneficial to hold a relevant Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification as it builds on your existing knowledge and understanding of beauty therapy skills.
On completion of this qualification you may gain employment as a Beauty Therapist specialising in hair removal or skin rejuvenation or as a dedicated laser technician in Beauty Salons, Spas or Health Clubs.
