This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by Innovate Awarding External Quality Advisors (EQAs).
Aims and Objectives of the Qualification
The main aim of the IAO Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is to enable Learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide Beauty Therapy services to the general public and to gain employment in the Beauty Industry. The qualification covers a number of treatment areas and technical skills and knowledge areas that are required to achieve this aim.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
This qualification is suitable for those who work, or who are looking to work within the Health and Beauty sector to provide a number of services. It provides Learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in Beauty Therapy. This qualification is suitable for learners who are aged 16 and above.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress into self-employment or working for a Health and Beauty Providers in the following types of organisations:
- Beauty salon
- Hotel or resort
- Health club
- Cruise ships
- Own business
