This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by Innovate Awarding External Quality Advisors (EQAs).
Aims and Objectives of the Qualification
The Level 3 Award in ICT in Early years is designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge when working with ICT in an Early Years’ setting.
This combined qualification focuses on how the key elements of ICT can be integrated into the Early Years’ curriculum to directly support children’s learning. Focus is given to the skills needed when incorporating ICT into the Early Years’ curriculum and when facilitating ICT learning within the set environment. The key ICT skills needed for the role are identified and an understanding of the ability to maintain e-safety and a safe, healthy and inclusive environment in which children can learn is covered.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
This qualification is suitable for those who work within an Early Years’ setting. It provides learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their competence and knowledge of ICT and how it can be used to support individuals in an Early Years’ Setting.
This qualification offers continuous professional development for learners employed in an Early Years role.
On completion of this qualification learners could continue their study in other areas such as:
- Level 3 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare (Early Years Educator)
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
Learners who achieve this qualification will meet the requirements of the Early Years Trailblazer Apprenticeship Standard for the Early Years Educator Role.
