Aims and objectives of the qualification
This RQF competence-based qualification provides practical training for advanced strategic management and leadership for the health and fitness sector.
This qualification is designed for project managers, department heads, and other practising middle managers in order to develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities. This qualification covers a wide range of strategic management and leadership elements, including the principles of business finance, managing health and safety and human resources across the organisation whilst contributing to strategic planning and stakeholder engagement and management.
This qualification is suitable for those who work within the Sport, Leisure and Recreation sector.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, although learners may find it useful if they have already completed the IAO Level 3 Diploma in Operational Management and Leadership.
Learners will be qualified to work in any health club chain or fitness centre within the leadership and management team. Job opportunities could include, but are not limited to:
- Centre Manager
- Operations Manager
- Sport Manager
- Quality Manager
Progression could be to further training or education including work based qualifications in areas such as leisure and facilities.
